Reported from Hoi Ha Wan (Ref. 94637, 119713). Also reported from coral areas in Sharp Island, and over sandy areas in Shelter Island. Have been released to artificial reefs as an effort to replenish depleted populations (Ref. 128523). The species was observed on 101 to 200 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Sold in live fish markets (Ref. 125552). Commonly consumed in Hong Kong (Ref. 125589).
